Stat of the Day, 13th April 2017.

Wednesday's Result

16:20 Nottingham: Fantasy Gladiatior @ 5/1 BOG 3rd at 4/1 Held up towards rear, steady headway on inside over 2f out, chased leaders 2f out, soon ridden, not much room over 1f out, stayed on under pressure inside final furlong, went 3rd post

Thursday's pick goes in the...

14:10 Chelmsford

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I'll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day's race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can't give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

The Juggler @ 7/2

The Juggler is still a maiden, but his last couple of performances have been encouraging, especially last time out when staying on over 12 furlongs at Kempton. He races from the same mark here today, and if he can settle early on, then he should have a good chance of going one better.

The following stats are applicable.

  • trainer William Knight for the past 30 days is 5/14 (35.71%) for 11.73pts
  • with flat stayers he is 19/128 (14.84%) for 7.91pts
  • The Jugglers sire, Archipenko, with all runners is 74/537 (13.78%) for 121.36pts
  • with runners on the all weather courses he is 29/197 (14.72%) for 128.14pts us... a 1pt win bet on The Juggler @ 7/2 which was available from most firms at 19:10 on Wednesday. To see what your preferred bookie is offering, simply... here for the betting on the 14:10 Chelmsford

Don't forget, we offer a full interactive racecard service every day!

Here is today's racecard

P.S. all P/L returns quoted in the stats are to Betfair SP, as (i) I NEVER bet to ISP and neither should you and (ii) although inferior to the BOG odds we secure, BFSP is the nearest approximation I can give, so I actually expect to beat the returns quoted.

    Hi Matt

Not sure if Chris is still doing the tips, I like your pick, my only reservation would be the lack of course winners in the last year by the trainer. Great site, never picked so many winners, another 2 today major valentine backed at 6-1 last night, and kinloch pride 15-2, other one was 3rd Dutch artist.

      Hi Bill

Good stuff on the winner-picking front. Steve, our Mr Race of the Day (amongst other things), is currently doing Stat of the Day while Chris has a holiday – he’s back next week.

Fantasy Gladiator was very unlucky today: he got trapped in a pocket for an absolute age before being beaten a nose and a neck in third.
